Macclesfield Methodist Circuit
Welcome to
Macclesfield is an ancient market town just west of the Peak District. It was once the centre of Silk manufacture in this country and has many old silk mills which are now converted to other uses. On the sixth of August 1762 on a visit to Macclesfield, John Wesley wrote “I preached at Macclesfield in the evening to a people ready prepared for the Lord. An impetuous shower began just as we came into the town; but it did us no hurt". Those impetuous showers still come from time to time, but the Macclesfield Circuit is a great place!
There are six churches in the circuit, and all are welcome at any of them!
